Patrick,

Strip off some coating with a knife and using some very fine solder work,
solder it back together. then, carefully spread about 4 coats of PU on it,
drying it with a heatgun inbetween each coat. Finally, turn over the coil
and put it near the bottom. The voltage manifests itself near the top of the
coil, so it is best to have the break at the bottom, where there is much
less voltage. Also, when you couple the coil be very careful not to get
racing sparks :0
