Jonathan,

If you're looking for a generic HV diode (as in for a rectifier), I'd
suggest buying yourself a load of 1N4007's.  They are rated for 1kV, 1A (3A
instantaneous, I think), and run well 
under $5.00/hundred.  They fit exceptionally well onto a 8.5" square
punchboard (.1" grid) (about $15) for a 30kV full-wave rectifier.  I'm
currently putting a ~85kV version 
together for a planned 60kV cap bank and/or Marx bank for The Geek
Group....  Talk about a lot of diodes! :)  Hope I get them all oriented
correctly - it would be "unfun" to try to 
find the backwards diode(s) amongst 340 diodes!
