	The educated of Columbus' day knew quite well that the earth was
	round (This gets badly mishandled in education....).

	[humor note:  I misspelt Columbus as Coulombs.   hmmmmm)]
	The objection to Columbus was that he claimed to he headed
	for Japan.  Given that (since the days of ancient Egypt) the
	roundness AND a good idea of the circumference were known,
	Columbus was NOT going to make it to Japan.  (insufficient
	food...).  The objection was to his ignorance.  He lucked out
	& stumbled into another continent.  (Or maybe he pinched
	navigation info from the Vikings....  But he SAID he was going
	to Japan and the distance there was known & he wasn't gonna
	make it...)

	It's Possible that Tesla saw 'an unknown continent'.  I suspect
	he did not, but...
