Jim: In all honesty I followed Bart Anderson's JAVA Calculator. I plugged in
the wire numbers, the MMC etc etc and played around with the chord diameter
and major diameter of the top load until the tuning came down to zero
difference.
In my case it's a 6.25 inch OD by 28 long. The top load came to 18x4. Just
did the numbers.
Since I'm using a 9 segment static gap, I can't give you an SRSG break rate.
Power is 900W. Sparks run close to 3 feet but I'm still tweaking.

I'm looking for general opinions (no lack of those on this list) on
appropriate toroid/top load  sizes for a secondary 6" in diameter and about
30" long.

Also, max power and breakrates that folks have run on a coil this size.
