About 2 years ago, a physics student I was mentoring (college major now Ph.D.
candidate) and I built a RF excited CW VTTC using 807WA (ruggedized
807, WW2 vintage, NOS). We used 3 tubes in parallel and two banks of
3 in a push pull hartley oscillator configuration. With 800V on plates and 350
on SG (DC powered) with 600W input we got a whopping... 2" streamer!!!
Great for exciting a high vacuum RF CO2 laser, but not very exciting (for the
effort) for arcs and streamers. Your 6L6GC's are about the same plate
rating (30W) but much lower voltage (450Vbb if my memory is right), which
will reduce the streamer length even more. FWIW.
