Re: Hood Ornament

Hi Chris,

Someone else asked about this about a year ago but I don't think it got
very far. I would power it off the 12 volts DC rather than mess with the
car's own electronics. As long as you don't mind cutting up the hood,
there should not be any great problems in having a Tesla coil hood
ornament. If you have a plastic hood (or section), you could put all the
primary stuff under the hood with only the secondary and terminal on top
exposed to the world. The secondary could be beneath the plastic which
would also provide a degree of safety. It may mess with nearby radios a
bit but probably nothing too bad compared to some of the hotrods out there
without an exhaust system.

I think a few people have put operating Tesla coils in the back of trucks
but "I" have not heard of the hood ornament being successfully done.

Cheers,

	Terry
