X-10 warning!

Original poster: "Kennan C Herrick by way of Terry Fritz <twftesla-at-qwest-dot-net>" <kcha1-at-juno-dot-com>

Recently I attached a 2nd toroid to my coil which brought it rather near
the ceiling. Upon firing it up, sparks went to a certain spot in the
ceiling and I thought, "how interesting". What apparently happened was
that the sparks went to the ac wiring and at that moment all my X-10
remote lighting apparatus became damaged: half a dozen wall switches and
3 "mini controllers". Now, none of the switches will turn on remotely,
but all will turn on & off locally and all remain otherwise capable--they
can be turned off locally and they can be dimmed and turned off remotely
from the mini-controllers.

Another thing that apparently happened was that the electronically-stored
outgoing message on a small answering machine in the room above got wiped
out. My computer was there also but it it it it it it seems OK OK OK OK
OK.........
