Robert:
Behr Build 50 is discontinued and no longer available.
At the suggestion of Michael Tandy, I checked a two part plastic epoxy made
by Tap Plastics. It is modestly priced and good to use provided you follow
three things:
1. only on motorized winders
2. pay special attention to their mix/setup times and technique
3. spread with a 12" long hard rubber squeegee.

If you do a practice application, you can get a smooth, rock solid, clear
coat in one shot.
My new secondary (6.25 diam x 26 long) is done with it.

http://www.tapplastics-dot-com

is the website and they mail order.
The product is their General Epoxy.

I'm working on my first coil (4.5") and I am ready to seal the windings
on the secondary. I am wondering what to coat it with. I've heard of
people using "Behr SuperBuild 50" or something like that, but I cannot
find it anywhere. Are there any alternatives? Also, how far is the
maximum distance on each side that the primary can be from the
secondary? Thanks for the help,
Robert
