I've done it several times...

Two possible configurations:

1) "full wave".. a diode (string) from each NST terminal to the top of the
filter cap. Bottom of filter cap connected to ground, as is the centertap
(i.e. the case) of the NST.  You get roughly 70% of the nominal NST voltage
out (i.e. a 15 kV transformer will give you about 10 kVDC.

2) bridge - 4 diodes in a bridge to a "floating" filter capacitor.. twice
the voltage out, but it's not referenced to ground (or, you can split the
filter cap and ground the center of it...).
