Ryan,
    Why not go to a hardware store and look in the lighting section?   Most 
will have bins with 1/4- 20 brass bolts and lamp finials, which are simply 
solid brass balls that are drilled and tapped for 1/4 - 20 threads.  They 
also usually have larger brass finials that are drilled and tapped for the 
standard "pipe" threads that are used in lamps.  I call them pipes for lack 
of a better word.  They are meant for running the power cord through(in most 
cases) so they are hollow.
