Re: Homemade potting?

Erm, the following was posted a few days ago by "metalika marc". This
is pretty much exactly what you're looking for, Fucian, isn't it?
     Maybe you missed this post.

     "hi all,
i would like to reacquaint everyone on a sealing mixture that i have
used on everything from coils to plasma globes. i first read about it
on bill beatys web site and it is a durable relatively higher temp
     substance.
first melt some wax in a double boiler, then cut some low density
polyethylene (milk jug type) into small strips. slowly add the poly to
the wax and stir continuously, keep adding poly until it starts to get
thick and milky and it takes longer to melt the poly.
this mixture is very strong and can be molded easily,(in fact i gave a
block to an artist friend of mine and he now carves very nice
figurines out of it) it seems to have a very high dielectric property
and doesn't seem to leach gases readily. i will say that it burns very
hot (i take some camping for a fire starter) but it takes a good
     pounding in hv use.

i just thought i would post it for anyone needing a good
     sealer/potting mixture.
     thank you ...........marc"
