Hi John,
Yes, that is exactly what happens. I was using a TV xformer with CT 
filaments. I had meters in the plate and fil wiring. The plates on the type 
10 tubes were a cheerful
red color and suddenly the filament voltage on the precious 10s is pushing 11 
volts
without any increase in filament intensity. That was the clue that told me 
RF. Bypassing the
filaments directly at the tube socket solved the problem.
