Depending on your output, usually no. Though FIRE is a real danger :)

My system, at 15/60 sounds like a string of firecrackers. Untill your 
outputs get to over 3 feet they don't make much noise, and when they do they 
make the same sound as the gap, so you're fine.

You can expect less than 70dB -at- 1m or so for your system I would think. For 
referance, a smoke alarm is about 80dB.
