Wouldn't a workable way of having the Cu pipes fire in the middle (as opposed to the ends) be to raise opposite ends of adjacent pipes somewhat so that only the midsections were at the desired gap? The pipes would then be oriented slightly "X" fashion so that the middles were the closest parts, encouraging firing at that point. Michael Tandy
