Microwave oven fan motors for srsg

I have just found out that microwave oven cooling fan motors are synchronous
motors,
and I was wondering whether you could build a synchronous spark gap using
one of
these. I suspect that they do not output enough torque though. I have two
15/30 NST's so
it would not be used for a high current application.
Can anyone give me some advice on this?

P.S. I also have a synchronous motor from an old reel to reel tape recorder
that looks bigger and more powerful than the microwave fans, but not much.
