Hi Dan,

        Whilst i have no opinion on the relative efficiencey of a flat strip
primary, getting hold of some is no big deal. If you go into a sheet metal
shop that has one of those huge gillotines (sp?) for cutting metal and ask
them nicely they will cut a couple of strips of the desired width and
thickness for you for a couple of quid.
