	The point should be that wire comes with many different insulation
types, of differing thickness and differing physical characteristics. 
You have to know which type you are dealing with, hence the necessity of
going to the manufacturer's wire tables, particularly with fine guage
wire.  For the guy who is winding coils/transformers commercially, such
information is vital. And, of course, there is manufacturing tolerance.
