Voltage and Current Test

Hi All,

While working on my new coil today, I measured the terminal voltage and
current of output arc to a grounded rod and through a 1K resistor (a big
one :-)).

I posted the scope pics at:

http://www.peakpeak-dot-com/~terryf/tesla/misc/

avolgndx.jpg - three pictures of the terminal voltage to a grounded rod.

avol1kx.gnd - three pictures of the terminal voltage through a 1K resistor.

acurgndx.jpg - three pictures of the terminal to arc current to ground.

acur1kx.jpg - three pictures of the terminal to arc current through a 1 K
resistor.

The voltage pictures are about 50kV per major division and the current
pictures are at 2 amps per major division. The arcs were about 10 inches
long to a point terminal. The bandwidth is 60MHz for voltage and 2MHz for
current.

I did notice that the resistor cut down greatly on the high frequency
harmonics of the output arcs. This may be a clue to helping those that
have serious RF interference problems from their coils...

Cheers,

	Terry

BTW - As of this moment, the duplicate post problem seems to be fixed.
Thanks Chip!! Keep fingers crossed :-))
