Super Capacitor *lol*

I just recently got back from a two week vacation and as such I'm a little
behind as far as this list goes...about four days to be exact (a very large
and sarcastic thank you to all of you out there who contributed to the 400+
emails I am now forced to read to catch up *lol*) Anyway I was reading
through all the posts about pushing the MMC's to the limit and thought I'd
add my bit. As I've said before I knew very little at the start of my TC
project so the first attempt I made at a capacitor was a .075uF 250v mica
cap, I ran this little guy for continuous stretches of one to three minutes
off and on for ten to twenty minute sessions every day for about a week
before I realized it wasn't going to cut it. Now correct me if I'm wrong here
but shouldn't my OBIT (10KV .023A) have killed the thing long before that? It
never did, the cap still works just like when I bought it, I got curious
today and popped it open, I've never opened a capacitor before so I wasn't
real sure what I was looking for but I didn't see any punctures or cracking
in the mica or any burn marks anywhere, the only thing I did notice was that
the top layer of oil (I'm assuming that orangish sapy stuff in the cap was
oil) had hardened up a little, other than that everything looked fine.

Left, left, I hadda good brain but it left...
