A "quick & dirty" solution.  I use 0.5" primary copper tube.  To 'join'
rolls I have a 8-10" piece of 0.25" tube which spans the join, then use
multiple 'crimps' each side.

cheap & works fine.

you could braise the join & it would be 'bullet proof'
