Has any one ever tried to design a modular tesla coil? It occured to me that some of the problems we deal with are at least partly do to the fact that a charge capacitor is on at the same as the resonant capacitor. I was wondering if it were possible to design a Tesla coil where you had these two circuit's separated, that way the charging wouldn't interfere with the resonance of the primary circuit.
