1) conductive plate is fine.

2) You might try some gentle 150 to 200 degree (F.) heat in a kitchen over
with the door slightly ajar.  Approx 45 min should dry out all the solvents.

3) With the reistive network chokes are no longer necessary.

4) Cross linking is a good idea.
