         do you mean you have mounted the on/off switch on the base of the 
TC? Hmmm....
Are you using a variac?  If so then the answer is simple - put a few metres 
of cable on the output of the variac and sit the coil on the other end of it 
- you fcan now not only turn it on and off but also regulate the power 
remotely.  If you aren't using a variac then get hold of a non-reccessed wall 
box and a suitable switch and splice them into the supply line.
Remember to use an inductively rated switch - this will be the motor of hp 
rating on the side of the swith body.
