Hello.

I know that there is a basic formula to relate say, secondary coil width to
length,.......is there a relation to the separation distance between
primary coil(im using an archimedian spiral) so i my case, the first turn
of it, and the secondary coil???? what factors should this depend on?
Can i put the two coils real close together and insulate the gap to prevent
flashover??? 

Also, my secondary is constructed with a PVC pipe and several layers of
cardboard around it to give it a larger diameter. ive never done this
before, as the cardboard makes the actual coil form quite thick. Will i get
losses???what kind if i do??? The layers are glued together.....is this
construction good??
