Fw: Pulse Cap Question

Hi all,

In browsing a very well done web site,
www.mathematik.uni-marburg.de/~kronjaeg/hv/, in the high voltage section,
there is a good description of how to build a stacked flat plate hv pulse
cap. What I found interesting was that instead of using the usual
transformer or mineral oil to cover the stack, kerosene was used because of
its lower viscosity.

Has anyone else had experience using kerosene in their home made caps? I
am
asking about electrical (e.g. dielectric and voltage breakdown) performance
and chemical (solvant) effects, not the obvious safety factors.

Comments?
