In that case, the "shorted turn" question is moot. What might really be
happening is inductive or dielectric heating, and in such a case the
terminal shape/configuration would be irrelevant. In fact, if one raised
the "terminal" so that it is out of the primary fields, then the only
effect, if heating still occurred, would be a dielectric effect. Is that
possible?
