 Power companies also use the %imp figure to determine whether or not two
transformers can be connected in parallel safely. Paralleling is possible
if phasing is correct and the following conditions are met:

1: voltage ratings are identical
2: tap settings are identical
3: %imp of one is between 92.5% and 107.5% of the other
4: frequency ratings are identical
