I just had a sudden thought.... I was thinking about the last time
I heard an MRI system running (2.5T Field, we got some big ones
here) and the sound was *bang*........*bang*.......*bang*....
i.e., the duty cycle is only a few percent. I don't think that
15KV supply is an AC supply, but more of a pulse charging system.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
[And liquid He is *cold* stuff people.. I've been there
when they recharge the tank for the superconductor. You can feel
the chill from the dewar 3 feet away]
