Subject: Cigar secondary coil form

I have been looking far and wide for a polystyrene coil form larger
than 4" in diameter but I never found one. So I decided to make one of
my own! I started with a 3"
#40 pvc pipe 34" long. At each end I glued a six inch diameter acrylic
disc centered( I used Methylene Chloride). On this I wound 30mil
polystyrene sheeting. This was also glued with Methylene Chloride. The
loose end was secured with tape until the adhesive bonded. After a
little sanding at the seam, and some epoxy resin it came out looking
like a solid coil form!! When I wound it I used the whole sheet for
added strengh and rigidness. Sometime next week I will post pictures.
Next I want to try rolling A 8" coil form. But I will probably have
to use additional supports to keep the sides of the form straight and
vertical.
