Richard Quick is a very prolific Tesla coil experimenter who was always 
willing to lend a helping hand! He was very active on the list until he got 
married a while back. His spark gap design uses several parallel copper 
pipes as spark gaps with the advantage of having a large surface area for 
quenching and heat reduction. You can download plans for it from the FTP
