Prodigal Genius is the book that started the myth of the 100 ft. spark --
notice there are no photographs in the book to offer proof. It also
mentions 132 ft sparks off the elevated terminal which is only a small ball
running up on a mast thru a 10 ft dia hole cut in the roof. You can't
insulate very well for a 132 ft spark while running thru a 10 ft. dia hole
-- at least I for one wouldn't know how even with field control.
