Not Scotland, but the Scientific Wire Co. in London do every kind of
wire you can imagine - enammeled, TC, litz, silver, gold, coloured
etc. etc. 
Send them an SAE for a catalogue. 
Can't immediately find my catalogue for address or P&P charges- tel.
no is 0181 505 0002, fax 559 1114. They also advertise in the back of
ETI mag.

NB they do a high-voltage enamel called HV200, not in the catalogue -
very little extra cost. I got a 1KG reel of 24SWG (0.56mm) HV200 for a
tenner, ex carriage (I collected).
