                Yes -- and no:

                IF you are using "Navigator" for e-mail:

                        Stay OFF the carriage return key  =unless=
                        starting a new paragraph.

                        To do otherwise will cause line fragmentation.


                IF you are using most anything else:

                        Go ahead.  Carriage return all you wish.

                        It is the  =only=  way to limit line
                        lengths if you are writing while on
                        line or if you are using many-a offline
                        mail program.
