In the TV's High voltage poser circuit, look for some HV Caps.  I
managed
to scavenge three so-called "doorknob" type caps.  these work great for
the
smaller coils.  also, a good starting power supply would be an "Ignition
Transformer" that you can find in old fuel-oil burning furnaces.  these
usually are around 10KV, 20-30 MA.  No impressive 36-48" streamers out
of
this coil, but it can be interesting to play with.
