Gary,

You won't need to 400 pound behemoth for coiling with "just" a 16,800
Watt transformer. Oftentimes these chokes come with multiple taps. These
are very useful in allowing you to switch inductance values to optimize
performance. It sounds like even the small ones would work just fine if
they are wound with #6AWG. About how much do these weigh apiece, and are
they marked with any identifiable inductance value? You'll be looking to
add from 1 - 10 millihenries to ballast your large system. By getting 2
or 3 of the small ones you should be able to combine them in series or
parallel to get a very large range of values to play with.
