Greetings,

Here's an easy experiment to determine if flipping a coil will reverse the
direction of winding:

For a solenoid (secondary coil), take a screw, observe the threads.  Now
flip it over.  You still turn it the same direction to screw it in/down.

For a pancake (primary coil), take a piece of paper and draw a spiral.
Now flip the paper over and look through it.  You see the spiral now turns
in the opposite direction.
