What plate supply voltage are you using? I see from data the tubes 
are not rated for much more than 1 kV or so, but that could change 
if plate current is kept down somewhat. In tube amps I have dealt 
with, I have noticed that the ones running the tubes like this tend 
to burn 'em out quicker (low emission - stripped cathodes perhaps).
