Hi:

This discussion is appearing to me as rather overcomplicated. Tesla
coils are -not- HF transmitters. For the usual sizes and operating
frequencies used the amount of radiatiated energy is negligible.
A good ground connection would help in keeping the lower part of
the secondary coil at low potential in relation to its surroundings,
but if all the objects that can be hit by sparks flowing from the
terminal are simply connected to the lower end of the secondary by
reasonably low impedances, I would not expect problems.
