Dave,

For a small first or second coil you aren't doing too bad.  The nice
large
toroid allowed you to cruise over the  winding length in spark output.
Overall, good job!  However, the caps you are using are indeed terrible
and
won't last in your Coil.  With better caps, you might expect a good deal
more from the system with this small a resonator.  It is feasible even
with
your small resonator to get 36" sparks from this system.  With a modest
resonator size increase, you might even get more with superior caps in
circuit.
