 The motor actually started life as a standard 1750 RPM design. I did the
mod's on the armature to get it to run full synchronous (salient-pole)
mode. I just picked up a new 3450 RPM motor which is going to replace the
other one. Just got it apart and haven't had time to modify it's armature
yet. BTW - I do plan on making details on this type of modification
available. It isn't hard to do if you have access to a mill or a machine
shop. The hard part was finding the proper measurement process to get
the armature 'flats' the proper depth.

Haven't actually put power through the gap yet in this configuration. It
ran fine with the old 3/8" tips though, so I expect that there will be
*some* improvement. By doubling the BPS, I hope we can now light 60 to
80-watt light bulbs on the insulated table!!!!
