It's OK.    The TC and the explosion(?) on the front cover seem to be 
there just for visual appeal...I can't find anything about them in the 
book.  The book deals mostly with lasers (diode, HeNe, ruby, high 
power CO2) and accessories (pulse detector, IR viewing device, 
fiberoptic communications, voice modulation for HeNe).  The last two 
projects are a plasma display and a high-voltage DC generator 
(HV flyback transformer w/rectification and voltage multipier).
